Promote Philanthropy

A major goal of the organization is to promote philanthropy. This is accomplished through public education programs about charitable giving and hosting events like our women's luncheon, which acknowledges the charitable contributions of women volunteers who are assisting local charities.

A new focus is on teaching young people about philanthropy which will be done through two recently developed curricula offered to nonprofits and schools. The Caring Kids Corps is geared toward 3rd through 5th graders and is adaptable to different learning settings. It has been incorporated into the YWCA's after school programs.

A similar program for middle and high school students where students learn firsthand about local nonprofit organizations was launched at the Janis Dismus Middle School in Englewood during the 2017-8 academic year.
